The title says it all… after you see the episode and realize that the giant, ion cannon toting Separatist battle cruiser is named “Malevolence” and after Anakinstarts refering to his bomber squadron as “Shadow Squadron”.  Personally i think “Griefing Grievous” would have been a better title, but that is just me.

So we start where the second premier episode left us.  The Republic has learned what is killing their fleets, and Anakin is determined to take it out.  Also, General Grievous is continuing his campaign to replace Richard Simmons as the most hated man in the universe by switching from hunting battle cruisers to hunting Republic medical transports in order to (in his own words) “maximize the casualties” because he “has a reputation to protect”.

The Jedi realize that the general is making for the main clone medical station to take it out.  Anakin takes his squadron, his padawan, and Master Plo Koon on a “short cut” through a nebula populated by giant space manta rays to get in position to take out Grievous and his ship by blowing up the bridge of the Malevolence before the Malevolence can take out the medical station.  Obi Wan, on the other hand, takes the conventional route, avoiding the nebula, in order to provide support when he and the rest of the fleet arrive.

Things go bad for our heroes when Anakin loses 1/2 of his ships to enemy fighter and the ion cannon before they even start the run on the bridge.  Ahsoka throws the “unnecesssary casualties” flag on Anakin’s plan when they figure out clone pilots can’t fly as well as our pod racing Jedi can.  One short moral dilemma later (with Master Plo pointing out that destroying the cannon will serve the Republic just as well as destroying the bridge) Anakin changes their target and they take out the cannon and the light speed drive along with it.

Luckily for Anakin, Obi Wan puts in his appearance at this time and the show closes with the Republic fleet chasing a burning Malevolence into the sunset with a hail of fire.

The next episode 10/17/08 (this Friday) is named “Destroy Malevolence”.  I wonder what will happen, as we all know that Grievous survives the TV show to make his appearance in the Episode 3 movie.
