Fox  Broadcasting has finally announced the premiere date of the Joss Whedon - Eliza Dushku action series “Dollhouse.” Friday February 15th will be the big day for the Whedonverse to get its first full hour of Joss broadcasted goodness since “Firefly” went off the air in 2003. The curious thing about the announcement is that Fox made it via Twitter. Seems they’ve woken up to the fact that a large majority of Whedon fans are Internet savvy.

On the down side, Friday is a crappy night for programming. Most younger potential viewers make plans to go out for the evening and because of that no show has taken off on this night since “The X-Files” in the early ’90s. Many quality sci-fi shows have tried since (i.e.”Firefly”), but none have succeeded other than SciFi’s original Friday night line-up (”BSG”, “Sanctuary”, etc.), but those shows don’t pull in the numbers a Fox show would need to survive.

Fox may have doomed our little “Dollhouse” before it’s started. Well, re-started.
