What’s on tonight: “Smallville”, “Supernatural” & series premieres of “Eleventh Hour” and “Life on Mars”

The two CW stalwarts “Smallville” and “Supernatural” continue to chug along with their devoted fan base and solid young viewer demos at 8p and 9p. But tonight presents two new offerings. And by “new” we mean an American version of a British show and something that looks like the CBS version of “Fringe.”

What’s on tonight: “Chuck”, “Heroes”, “Sarah Connor” and more

Tonight at 8p, Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” will see some serious competition in the form of second season premiere of NBC’s action dramedy “Chuck.” On top of that, the one hour CBS comedy block of “Big Bang Theory” and “How I Met Your Mother” may be dividing the geek audience pie even more.

What’s on tonight: “Eureka” finale vs “Fringe” 103 vs “Mentalist” series permiere at 9p

Too much good stuff on tonight. Must be why DVRs were invented. There is a particular concentration of geek shows at 9p tonight with the third episode of “Fringe” on FOX, the debut of CBS’ “The Mentalist” and the summer finale of the third season of “Eureka” on SciFi.
